Administration and Data Entry Assistant – Kilkenny, SA

A core value of the Salvation Army is to support the basic needs of individuals and communities whilst making a positive difference in the world.  The Administration and Data Entry mission volunteer role provides administration services including data entry of information, filing, responding to telephone calls, preparing of spread-sheets and memos/letters and responding to emails as required.

Safety and well-being of self and others is vital and there is a requirement to identify and report hazards and incidents.

This is a great opportunity for someone with good clerical and administrative skills and a desire to help the community to join the The Salvation Army Adelaide Northern Metro Doorways team, based in Kilkenny, gaining experience and making connections.

The ideal candidate will have the following essential skills:

  • Must be able to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army
  • A strong desire to serve the community volunteering through a faith based not-for-profit organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written
  • Intermediate computer literacy skills including use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Accounts payable and reconciliation, petty cash management

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in an administrative office environment and customer service

To succeed in this volunteer role, you will have a positive and friendly disposition with an excellent phone manner, and be a quick learner with a high attention to detail and be task orientated. You will need to be reliable, trustworthy and respectful of the differing views and rights of others, and be able to work within the mission and values of The Salvation Army.

Hours; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays - 9am to 2:30pm. This role is school hours suitable. Job share suitable.

This role would be an excellent opportunity for anyone wanting to improve upon their administrative skills, or retain skills and utilise their administration and data entry experience to further the good work of The Salvation Army.
