Pain Support Group Facilitator - Adelaide

    Initially the Facilitator will be provided with materials to get them started. This will be coupled with ongoing support from APMA head office and the facilitators network.

  • Requirements

    We require our facilitators to join as Australian Pain Management Association members before assuming the role of facilitator.

Pain support group (PSG) Facilitators helps the group to: ~ share their experiences of living with chronic pain, ~ educate the group about self-management techniques and ~ to effectively use healthcare settings.

Tasks will include;

  • Answer email queries
  • Prepare materials for group
  • Email contact with group
  • Find guest speakers as required
  • Hold monthly meeting
  • Participate in email and Facebook facilitator network

The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours.

We are recruiting volunteers for this role throughout the Adelaide area.

PSG Volunteers will be supported through, PSG education material, PSG administrative forms, insurance coverage, certificate and reference (as appropriate).
