Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre (CNC) is a vibrant and inclusive not for profit organisation providing programs and services to enhance community well-being, involvement, and connection for those in the local community and surrounding suburbs. We adopt an accessible community led approach in governance and operations to bringing people together.

CNC is entering a phase of rapid growth and development and we are looking for a Minutes Secretary to support our board and manager through this exciting time. This role will be responsible for communication and record keeping within the Board as well as assisting with board related projects. The Minute Secretary works with the Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Manager and board members. This role is not required to be a member of the Board.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Take the minutes of board meetings and distribute ahead of following the meeting
  • Prepare agendas in consultation with the Chair and Manager and distribute board papers prior to meetings
  • Oversee official records such as minutes, membership register, constitution and policies
  • Work with the Chair and Manager to ensure all correspondence is effectively managed

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous Board or governance experience is desirable but not essential
  • Strong administration and communication skills
  • Have a genuine interest in using their skills to make a difference
  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite is essential as well as basic knowledge of online communication, document sharing and networking tools or a willingness to learn
