The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of mecwacare.

Make a positive impact on the lives of our elderly in aged care! mecwacare requires volunteers who would like to connect with our residents through garden maintenance at our John Atchison Centre in Hoppers Crossing.

Tasks and Responsibilities: You will have a keen interest in gardening along with a desire to support older people to live and age well in the community. This volunteer opportunity will involve watering plants, general garden maintenance of plants within our courtyard and seasonal planting.

Our Residential Facilities offer a range of lifestyle programs, giving older people the opportunity to participate in different types of recreational and social activities. The activities are planned with the participants to ensure their needs and interests are met, and are designed to maintain independence and enhance the quality of life for the participants and its carers.

Due to COVID19 mecwacare is taking the necessary precautions to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our volunteers, staff, clients and residents. At this time we are not taking on new volunteers, however for some volunteer roles we are able to conduct telephone in readiness for when volunteering resume. We appreciate your support during these challenging times.
