Port Macquarie’s Koala Hospital is a not-for-profit facility that not only treats sick and injured koalas but is also involved in conservation, education and research into koala diseases and habitat.  Over the last few years scientific research and collaboration with research institutions, government agencies and wildlife organisations has grown, and we have become an authoritative body  in the care and rehabilitation of koalas.

We currently have openings in our  Koala Care Team on a number of shifts, especially on the weekends.

On the morning shift, 8am to approx. 11am, you would be raking and cleaning individual koala yards, carrying branches and cutting leaf within set protocols, feeding formula to some koalas, sweeping walkways, and generally tidying up whatever is required in the yards.

On the afternoon shift, 2.30pm to approx. 4.45pm, you would be topping up water containers in each koala yard, feeding formula to some koalas, tidying up the areas around the hospital, sweeping and mopping floors etc.

So, if you are studying for a captive animal qualification,  or just want to help look after, and learn more about our iconic koalas, this is a great opportunity for you.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
