Café Supervisor
Street Mission IncStreet Mission is a charity operating two cafés for the homeless and disadvantaged in Sydney’s Northern Beaches region, and serve an estimated 300 meals a month using a 100% volunteer workforce.
Street Mission has openings for Community Café supervisors at their cafés:
- Balgowlah Community Café runs on Saturday nights, from 5:00 until around 8:00 PM.
- Dee Why Community Café runs on Wednesday nights from 5:00 PM until around 8:00PM.
Street Mission is seeking responsible and committed volunteers available on a regular basis at least one night per quarter who have experience in food preparation and ideally have some experience in kitchen supervision (whether in a commercial kitchen, school or sport canteen, or other volunteer organisation, etc). Our Community Café supervisor role is a dynamic and engaging role that includes: meal planning and purchasing of ingredients, assisting with and supervising other volunteers in the preparation and serving of the meal, overseeing kitchen clean-up and securing the premises.
You will meet and interact with new people from all walks of life, develop your management and supervision skills, and be a part of a close-knit team sharing conversation and a nutritious hot meal with the homeless and disadvantaged in our community.
Note: Currently Street Mission is currently only providing a takeaway service. This will revert to an indoor service as conditions allow.
