Cancer Council QLD is looking for a volunteer legal assistant to provide legal support to the Legal team. The role provides general legal assistance under the direct supervision of the CCQ's Legal Advisor, will also assist the General Counsel and Company Secretary and may be assigned one or more specific projects.

We are looking for a person with the following knowledge, skills, experience and availability:

• Completion of Contracts and Trusts courses. Understanding the foundations of contract law and Queensland Succession law is highly desirable
• Proficient skills in legal research with the ability to communicate this research to the Legal Advisor professionally
• Ability to work independently but with some supervision
• Professional phone manner
• Availability for 12 months or more is highly desirable

The Volunteer Legal Assistant will gain valuable experience working for the legal team of one of Queensland’s leading cancer control charities. You will be invited to attend seminars with the Legal Advisor and be involved in networking events.
