The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Balwyn Evergreen Centre.

The Board of this local Aged Care Facility has decided to increase it's Board membership from 7 to 9, hence they are looking for additional talent to join their team. They are particularly looking for a new Treasurer due to the retirement of the current incumbent. They are also looking for a board member with marketing and communications skills. If you have these qualifications this is a great opportunity to get involved.

  1. Treasurer - Key Responsibilities:
  • Presenting financial reports to the Board and dealing directly with CEO on financial matters
  • Chairing the Finance/Investment Committee meetings
  1. Marketing and Communications board member - Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist us to develop a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy
  • Partner with the Board and CEO to oversee a consistent and active communication strategy to all stakeholders for the purposes of program messaging, awareness and branding

Skills and Experience:

  1. The person holding the position of Treasurer should have relevant qualifications and experience to take the lead for the Board in fulfilling it's financial oversight responsibilities.

  2. The person holding the position of Marketing/communications should have marketing/business development/communications expertise.

Induction and Training:

  • All prospective directors will be provided with governance and operational familiarisation and all relevant information including Corporate Governance sections of the Balwyn Evergreen [BEC] Policies and Procedures Manual, BEC Constitution and other relevant legal governance documentation, recent meeting papers, an organisational chart, contact details for other directors and key staff, current year’s meeting schedule and the annual agenda.
