Team Leader for Accessible Beaches Project

    Saturdays and Public Holidays - 8am - 12 noon and or 12 noon - 4 pm ( 4 hourly shifts) Group of 4 persons per shift required. September 28th to 2nd May 2020 .

    Specialist training by SPSLSC and VSA , including Mobi Chair operation and Disability Induction.

  • Requirements
    • National Police Certificate *

    Reliability to be available on regular days.
    Follow protocol and be responsible to SLSC Beach Captain as required.
    Attend the mandatory group training at the designated time and place. Attend extra specific training for Team Leaders. A Yellow Card will be required and can be applied for you by VSA
    Wear the provided uniform as required.
    Have the ability to setup / pack up the equipment which may require physical agility.

    * May be arranged via the Organisation. Details to be provided on expression of interest.

Groups of 4 are required each shift. You can be an individual or a group who would like to volunteer during the summer months, one or more Saturdays September 28 th to 2nd May 2020. As a volunteer Team Leader you will be required to ensure your team carry out the duties as required follow all protocol and report as required. General Daily duties:
Roll out the beach mats as per the instructions on location from the Volunteer Leader or Patrol Captain at the SP SLSC Setup the marquee(s) with the equipment Have the mobi-chairs and wheelchair equipment available “ready to go” under the marquee Have a table with the booking forms, sunscreen, assistive technoloy and other necessary equipment for use on the day Greet the person(s) who have made a booking and provide a demonstration on how to use the equipment Ensure the carer and user have signed the necessary paperwork to allow them to access the beach mats and/or the equipment Provide information to the person(s) concerned of the weather conditions and offer sunscreen and other assistive technology Be present and available to assist the person (and carer) when appropriate Provide a “helping hand” to anyone that wants to use the beach mats. Depending on Shift, Breakfast / Lunch may be provided.
