The objectives of this role are so much more than just delivering a meal to vulnerable clients living in Knox. Our volunteers provide nourishing meals, help reduce feelings of social isolation by having a friendly chat, monitor the safety and wellbeing of our clients, and in so doing help clients maintain their independence.

The key tasks include:

• Work collaboratively with meals and wheels staff and other volunteers
• Familiarise yourself with a particular round you will be covering on the day
• Deliver the meals, as directed, ensuring the correct meal is given to the appropriate client
• Observe the health and wellbeing of each client and report any concerns to staff on return to the office
• Complete the round within a reasonable time so as not to cause any inconvenience to clients and to comply with the time/temperature limits for delivery of chilled meats
• Return the coolers, driver delivery sheets and other documentation to the office and discuss any issues requiring clarification, and
• Deliver, or collect client menu sheets as required.
