The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of City of Boroondara - Libraries.

Expert knitter wanted! We are looking for a leader to establish a knitting/stitching group to be held on the second Tuesday morning of the month at Balwyn Library. This is a great opportunity to get involved in your local community, whilst practicing your love of knitting.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Lead a stitching group session for 1.5 hours, once a month in the Balwyn library.
• Purpose being to get the group off the ground, attract some interest, so that eventually there are enough regular attendees (at least 4) so that the group runs by itself
• Demonstrate some stitching and knitting techniques or anything similar that would attract attendees
• Organise a tea/coffee trolley
• Report on attendance and provide feedback to Council Officer responsible for this program

Skills and Experience:

• A crafty person with skills and interest in stitching, knitting, etc.
• Experience in group setting, perhaps in a similar knitting group
• Comfortable with leading a group
• A friendly, open and jovial personality
