Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Community Visitor Volunteer – Griffith ACT
MS PlusMultiple Sclerosis is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home through ongoing friendship.
We have a 67yo lady who has a passion for arts and crafts, including hook rugs, painting and cross stitch. She feels very lonely over the weekend and would love the company of a friend who would also enjoy crafting with her and a good chat. Craftwork skills not required but an interest in arts and crafts is desirable.
You need to be warm, caring, reliable and willing to commit to at least fortnightly visits for a minimum of 12 months.
Good English communication skills required however volunteers with other languages willing to be matched to same language are very welcome to apply.
