Experienced Volunteer Community Support Worker

Shepparton Family and Financial Services is a not for profit community based organisation that provides information, advice, referral and emergency relief to those in need within our community. They provide resources and support to people on low incomes who may be experiencing financial hardship.

Volunteer Community Support Workers provide support within the agency and have the following key duties:

• Assist people in crisis by providing emergency relief in the form of food parcels, supermarket vouchers, and other material assistance. • Assist people seeking information and/or support by accessing information • Identify and assess client requests and needs and provide referral to appropriate agencies and assistance programs • Advocate on behalf of clients and help them to access other assistance programs • Provide practical administrative support as required (e.g. help with drafting letters, filling out forms) • Follow established agency policies and procedures as required
