We are Imagine Global Ltd, an Australian-based charity with DGR status that undertakes various practical services for the vulnerable locally and beyond.

THE REFUGEE CRISIS AND THESSALONIKI 68.5 million people around the world have been forced to flee their homes due to violent conflict. Greece had about 50,000 arrivals of refugees in 2018. Thessaloniki, the 2nd largest city in Greece, was a holding point for families wanting to travel further into Europe along the Balkan route (toward Austria/Germany). Refugee populations in Thessaloniki include those from Syria, Iraq and Pakistan. Many of these refugees are unregistered, meaning they don't have access to Greek health care other than emergency care. This is difficult for a population of which many are living in dismal conditions and vulnerable from previous trauma/violence.

Main components of trip

**6-7 days of Refugee Outreach: ** Medical personnel (Doctors/Med Students/Nurses/Allied health) -- Working with "Medical Volunteers International" to help provide medical help to refugees, including primary healthcare and possibly chronic wound management. We may also make referrals to other services in the area. There are currently 3 locations in Thessaloniki where the organization operates: Diavata Camp, La Porta and The Carpark Clinic. Non-medical personnel - Either help out with medical outreach or have other programme. 1 day visit to A21, anti-trafficking organization: They will accomodate us for a presentation for a few hours and then have lunch. A21 is a non- profit, anti- human trafficking organization working in 14 different locations across the world including the US, UK, Spain, Thailand and South Africa. Their work include rescuing victims and bringing perpetrators to justice.

3 days of adventure/recreation: Experience the culture/history, food, shopping in Thessaloniki! Also nearby escapes include Meteora (World heritage site). Can be planned according to team preferences

We are looking for volunteers:

- Aged 18 and above - Based in Western Australia and able to attend 2 pre-trip team gatherings - Willing to work in group and be team player - Interested to help the less fortunate and understand their challenges - Medical doctors will work in their normal capacity - Students(medical/nursing/etc) to work under supervision (NOT AVAILABLE) - Limited places for non-medical volunteers: Will negotiate a role depending on skills (NOT AVAILABLE) - Must be able to pay costs of trip
