The Salvation Army's Soundpoint and Youth Community Centre, at Goodna, exists to strengthen community connections, create effective support pathways and restore hope. The Meeting Place Cafe, is located on-site and is a place where locals enjoy snacks, meals and beverages and where customers can 'Pay it forward' with a meal for someone doing it tough.

We are currently looking for volunteers to undertake Cafe attendant duties. You will be required to assist with the preparation and sales of lunches and the general cleaning and maintenance of our Cafeteria. The Cafe Attendant role is to create a warm hospitable environment whilst preparing drinks, basic food and delivering quality customer service. Attention to maintaining a clean, safe, hygienic and healthy work environment is critical.

In return, you will receive training and references can be provided upon requests. Other benefits include the opportunity to give back and engage with those most in need. This role would also suit someone who wished to expand upon their retail skills and gain confidence in a service environment.

Available shifts for immediate start: Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am-2pm

Whilst this is an ongoing role, short term applicants will also be considered for this desirable position on the team.

Qualifications and experience requirements for the role:

• Barista experience and customer service is preferred but not mandatory
• Experience in preparing food and condiments is highly regarded
• Knowledge of work health and safety, particularly in a commercial kitchen environment

The successful candidate will be required to complete The Salvation Army's Volunteer Registration and agreement form, induction modules, integrity checks and other training as required.
