The Tasmanian Red Cross Divisional Advisory Board (DAB) is looking for new members. Join us if you have a passion for making a contribution to the world’s largest humanitarian network and wish to support our engagement and impact in Tasmania. Membership of the Tasmanian DAB is a voluntary position. The DAB provides advice and support to the State Director, oversees member activities and supports the development of strong networks and partnerships.

  • This position is for a two-year term, for up to four continuous terms (8 years)
  • Expected to attend all Divisional Advisory Board (DAB) meetings in Tasmania (6-8 meetings a year), as well as Branch meetings from time to time.

The Program Membership of the Tasmanian DAB is a voluntary position. The DAB provides advice and support to the State Director, oversees member activities and supports the development of strong networks and partnerships. This advisory board role does not hold the fiduciary, oversight and compliance requirements that are required on a governance board, unlike the National Society board.

The opportunity The role will suit someone who can commit to attending regular DAB meetings (face-to-face and teleconference) and completing associated tasks outside of meeting times.  To be successful in this role you will demonstrate cultural competency, integrity, and diplomacy. You will be able to communicate and collaborate well with a range of individuals, stakeholders and partners. In addition, you should be willing and able to engage in member, volunteer and other public Red Cross activities. We are particularly seeking the support of those with skills and experience in the following areas: private sector engagement, change management, fundraising and revenue raising, media and communications.

The impact The DAB provides advice and support to the State Director, oversees Branch operations in Tasmania, actively promotes the work of Red Cross and communicates policies, strategy and other matters with the membership. The responsibilities and obligations are set out more fully in the Divisional Regulations.
