Logo for Glen Forrest Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade

The Glen Forrest Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade provides fire protection, prevention and fire fighting services to the Glen Forrest and surrounding areas. As with other Bush Fire Brigades, we are run entirely by volunteers predominantly from the local community, however we welcome members from anywhere as long as they are able to commit to both the Shire of Mundaring's and our brigade's minimum requirements. In saying this, it is important to note that if you live more than a few minutes away it is hard to make it to the station for emergency calls so non-operational roles are more suited to people living out of Glen Forrest.

We are often called upon to assist other fire and emergency service agencies outside of our area and work co-operatively with many other organisations.

Fighting large, out of control bush fires is only a small part of what we do. Being a firefighter is not all about lights and sirens and excitement. A lot of what we do is in a hot and dirty environment and some tasks could be considered boring. That being said, the job can be exciting and we do get to do a lot of interesting and rewarding things.
