Community GRO is a not for profit organisation providing services and programs to support families and individuals across the Townsville community through our Upper Ross and Garbutt Community Centres.

We value the skills and experience that each of our volunteers bring to the organisation and their contribution to support our staff and program service delivery. Our volunteers have the opportunity to participate and benefit from our programs.

Volunteer duties include: Lawn mowing, whipper snipping, watering, weeding, trimming

The ideal volunteer for our gardener position is someone who has the ability to work alone unsupervised.

There is the option of joining in with our garden group and sharing knowledge and ideas as well as learning from others.

Our volunteers are rewarded with the knowledge that they are supporting our organisation which in turn enables us to support community.

Our Garbutt Community Centre has beautiful gardens which are used throughout the week to deliver our programs. They are a welcoming and inviting place to spend time having a cuppa and chat.
