The Leukaemia Foundation priority has been to support people living with blood cancer and their families in their moments of need.  They are a major provider of accommodation, transport, psychosocial and other support services to people living with blood cancer, in addition to being a philanthropic funder of blood cancer research.

The Leukaemia Foundation provided 56,651 patients with a free home away from home whilst undergoing treatment which meant patients were able to stay with their families during treatment in 2017-18, at no cost to the patient.

More than 32,940 trips by volunteer drivers were provided to 1938 individuals to get them to and from treatment using our patient transport services.

Through patient support services the Leukaemia Foundation delivers psychosocial services to more than 1,600 people each year, helping to reduce patient and family anxiety, improving survival outcomes and wellness.

As a major investor in blood cancer research, they have funded more than $47 million in fundamental and translational research since 2002 alone – delivering improvements in survival and quality of life.
