Vet Coordinator
GAR| Geelong Animal RescuePrincipal Duties:
- manage email bookings and respond promptly and professionally at all times,
- ensure all new rescue arrivals are booked in for vaccinations, desex and microchips as soon as physically possible and keep track of progress,
- follow up foster carers until all mandatory vet work is completed,
- record all new microchip numbers on data base as soon as possible,
- manage new arrivals with existing microchips: instruct foster carers to pass on mc number and record on database ASAP,
- obtain quote for any ‘out of the ordinary’ vet recommendations and email the treasurer, animal manager, or supplies manager for approval,
- collect all desex and mc paperwork to pass onto records@ for emailing to new adopters,
- raise any concerns with foster carer or vet performance with animal manager, so as animal manager can handle in accordance with GAR policy,
- navigate all emergencies to Animal manager. In the absence of animal manager, contact Supplies Manager or PR Manager,
- when dealing with medical information or social media, report facts only, not assumptions or personal opinion,
- prepare brief and factual vet report for the Animal Manager to present at each board meeting.
