PACT (Protect All Children Today)PACT child witness support Volunteers provide factual information to child witnesses and their carers about the Court process to prepare child witnesses for giving evidence.
Volunteers maintain appropriate contact with carers children/young people until the Court matter is finalised. They accompany the child witness whilst they meet with the prosecutor and view their original police statement. Volunteers support and reassure the child witnesses whilst they are waiting to give evidence. They accompany the child while they give their evidence. Volunteers prepare and submit case paperwork as soon as possible after the conclusion of a matter, and liaise with a number of key stakeholders including The Queensland Police, Office of the Director of public prosecutions, staff from the Department of Child Safety, Court staff and fellow PACT Volunteers.
