It is essential for this role to reside in the Eastern Portion of Gidgegannup.

Duties:

Commit to a roster team 1 week in 4.
Turn out to fires during your roster or when available.
Actively participate in training.
Take care of your equipment and PPC.

Training

Training is provided through the City of Swan training team. Ongoing training is provided on Saturday mornings at the commencement of your team’s roster. It takes around six months of training and experience to prepare you for active firefighting.

Time required

New members need to commit to actively participate in firefighting and brigade training. We have 4 teams of firefighters, led by their lieutenant and experienced crew. Your roster is for one week in four, where you will be available over the weekend, and throughout the following days if possible.

Requirements

National Police Certificate

You are required to live in the Eastern portion of Gidgegannup. Basic fitness and stamina. Applicants can be any age from 16 years, any sex, ethnic background etc, as all we need is commitment. It is important that new recruits reside in Gidgegannup, as you need to be close to achieve first responder effectiveness.
