Our Knowles Court Aged Care Community residents enjoy taking part in word games. They are seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to assist with the setting up and running of the word building activity on a Monday afternoon. This role includes encouraging residents to participate in the activity enhancing there cognitive skills and promoting community connectedness. Most importantly they are also lots of fun!

As part of the Monday afternoon program you can assist residents by:

• Providing support and reassurance while residents are involved in the game

• Ensure residents remain actively engaged, encouraged and inspired

• Encourage independence, friendship and fun in a relaxed environment

This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.

The Word Building Game is held on a Monday afternoon between the hours of 1.30pm until 3pm. You can choose to volunteer on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis.

Knowles Court is home to 53 residents with lovely verandas and outdoor areas that provide the perfect opportunity to relax in the sun or share a cup of tea with family and friends. It is a welcoming and rewarding community to volunteer in.
