What to expect

This rewarding role would suit applicants who are passionate about animals and dedicated to improving their welfare, who love being part of a team and enjoy meeting new people, and have great computer and administration skills.  Whilst this is not a ‘hands on’ animal care role, you will provide vital help to all creatures great and small by assisting with the administration of our Planned Giving team, ensuring our records are up to date, enrolling supporter’s pets in our Pet Legacy program, and assisting with a variety of other data entry and clerical tasks.

Tasks may include:

  • A variety of data entry tasks
  • Updating and cleansing supporter details on our database, including information about their pets.
  • Assisting with mail-outs, including collating and organizing the information to be sent, stuffing envelopes etc
  • Using internal RSPCA databases and CRM systems
  • On occasion, possibly contact supporters by phone.

What skills and characteristics do I need?

  • High level computer skills including excel and data entry experience
  • Excellent administration, attention to detail, planning and organisation skills
  • A very high level of discretion as you will handling sensitive data.
  • Good communication and phone skills
  • Reliable and professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, take initiative and multitask

When can I volunteer?

  • Tuesdays 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm. Other weekdays available on request.
  • We request a minimum commitment of 1 x four hour shift per week for a minimum of 3 months. Orientation will be provided.

PLEASE NOTE: As part of volunteering with us you will be required to purchase an RSPCA Volunteer T-shirt for $30. It is also a requirement that before handling animals at the RSPCA you have an up to date Tetanus vaccination.
