We need Assistant Regional Representatives for our Regional Teams in Darwin, Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Fremantle, Bendigo, Perth and Hobart.

About the role of Assistant Regional Representative In this role, you will assist your Regional Representative to manage a team of fundraising volunteers. You will volunteer for 8 to 12 hours per month, including some weekends and evenings. Assistant Regional Representatives are crucial to help The Orangutan Project grow and increase our fundraising.

As an Assistant Regional Representative, you will help the Regional Representative to manage a team of passionate, committed Fundraising and Events Volunteers. Tasks include:

  • assisting with recruitment and training of volunteers
  • assisting with planning and managing events
  • coordinating and booking stalls at local markets and community festivals
  • managing and ordering merchandise
  • assisting with team communications
  • attending regular online meetings to support and learn from your fellow Reps and Assistant Reps

As Assistant Regional Representative, you may be asked to stand in for the Regional Representative if they are away or busy with another fundraiser. You will receive training, support and guidance to develop your skills. This is an exciting role where you can spread your wings while raising funds that save orangutans in Sumatra and Borneo.

About you You're passionate about the environment, especially about protecting and saving orangutans and other species from extinction. You are good with people and like getting out and about in your local community. You have time and energy, and you want to make a difference.

You may feel you don't  have all the skills required in the role, but you're willing to learn and be mentored by the Regional Representative. You may be interested in event coordination or environmental science, and you're keen to learn new skills such as communications, banking and team management. This role is a great step in your career and will give you skills and experience to help you achieve your goals.

Alternatively, you may have experience in some of the responsibilities of this role, and you're looking for a new opportunity. You want to use your skills and experience to help out with a great cause.
