BETTER EARTH VOLUNTEERS – DUCK RIVER

Liverpool Volunteer Resource Centre
Logo for Liverpool Volunteer Resource Centre

A Conservation Organisation is looking to welcome people who have a love of the outdoors and an interest in the environment, to get involved in a Volunteer capacity. Their Volunteers include students, professionals and retirees, in fact almost anybody can get involved. You don't need any prior skills or experience, just a reasonable level of health and fitness and a passion for a better, greener environment.

Help breathe new life into the Mighty Duck River! Tucked away in Sydneys West, is an urban waterway in need of some help. Duck River flows year-round into Parramatta River, connecting vital waterways across the city and providing a green corridor for native animals to move around our city. However, over time, the river has struggled to fight against the invasive plants taking hold of the river bank. To tackle this, we need your help with removing weeds from the river bank, scooping up some of the plastics and bottles and other tasks that will help to improve the water quality substantially.

This project runs from 9am-4pm on Monday 4th November 2019, Tuesday 12th November 2019 and Tuesday 19th November 2019 . Complimentary transport is available from Granville Railway Station, departing at 8.30am and returning at 4.30pm approximately.

If you would like to participate in a project that protects and enhances our environment and heritage, we would love to hear from you!

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
