Telecross Volunteer Liaison Officer - Dubbo

Australian Red Cross
Logo for Australian Red Cross
  • 2 hours per day for 2 days per week

The program

The Telecross program provides a free reassuring daily phone call to people living alone to confirm they are safe and well. Short friendly calls are made by volunteers 7 days a week and an agreed procedure is activated if a client does not answer or the phone is engaged after 2 attempts. This involves nominated key contacts checking on the client’s welfare.

The opportunity

The Telecross Volunteer Liaison Officer will provide administrative support to the program coordinator including opportunities to liaise with clients and volunteers, updating databases and related administrative tasks.

An ability to commit to 2 hours per day for 2 days per week would be advantageous. The position will be based in the Dubbo Office with the possibility of some tasks being done from home.

A National Criminal History Check is required for this role.  Client confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

The impact

As a Telecross Volunteer, you’ll provide peace of mind and be a friendly voice to people who are elderly or have disability. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.

For more information, please contact Leanne Ferris (02) 8295 2754 or (02) 8295 2716.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
