The Content Creators - Kingston Youth Services

The Content creators will learn the art of Social media and some of the strategies used in content creation. You will brainstorm design/ theming for Youth Services Social Media pages.

You can apply to be a content creator (Come to meetings and plan content for the week) OR you can be an influencer – someone behind the scenes reacting and sharing posts. OR part of the media crew – creating the content by building promotional material for programs and events. The Media Crew will have access to learning opportunities in order to upskill for future employment possibilities.

Weekly sessions will consist of brainstorming and finding content to be scheduled on Youth Services social media channels including the general Youth Services Facebook and Instagram accounts. FReeZA Facebook and Instagram accounts and any other social media channels.

As a Content Creator, you will be required to attend weekly meetings at Youth Services from 4:00pm- 5:30pm. Your role will consist of • Researching appropriate content for Kingston Youth Services social media pages. Content may include images, videos or GIFS. • Appropriate language and correct grammar in posts • Schedule date and time for content to be posted • Content to be in line with Kingston Youth Services values and policies. • Adhere to City of Kingston’s and Kingston Youth Services Social Media policies. • Attend weekly meetings and training when offered. • Contribute to group discussions • Use hashtags (#) decided in meetings in any posts • Work productively in a team environment as well as work independently when completing tasks/roles • Excellent time management and organisational skills • Willingness to learn new skills and bring a positive attitude to the group

As a Social Influencer, you will have the option to attend weekly meetings or be available only online. Your role will consist of: • Reacting to social media posts and appropriately commenting on posts. • Share social media posts • Appropriate language and correct grammar used in posts • Use hashtags (#) decided in meetings in any posts • Content to be in line with Kingston Youth Services values and policies. • Adhere to City of Kingston’s and Kingston Youth Services Social Media policies. • Work productively in a team environment as well as work independently when completing tasks/roles • Excellent time management and organisational skills • Willingness to learn new skills and bring a positive attitude to the group

As part of the Media Crew, you will be required to attend a monthly meeting to discuss the current needs of the content creators and any upcoming events or promotional tools required. As a Media Crew Member you will gain experience in planning, promoting and delivering video content on a social media platform, as well as create networks, meet new people and develop skills.

• Consult and liaise with the Content creators and the Freeza (Fuse Productions) crew • Build story boards which are in line with requests • Attend monthly meetings and training when offered. • Adhere to City of Kingston’s and Kingston Youth Services Social Media policies. • Work productively in a team environment as well as work independently when completing tasks/roles • Excellent time management and organisational skills • Willingness to learn new skills and bring a positive attitude to the group
