Tea & Tech Volunteer - 2020 Seniors Festival

Willoughby City Council
Logo for Willoughby City Council

As part of Seniors Festival we are hosting a series of four workshops designed to assist older members of the community with different aspects of using smartphones and tablets.

Each workshop will be led by a professional trainer, and as a volunteer you will be assisting individual participants during the hands on elements of the sessions.

Volunteers should be confident in using websites and technological devices, although you don't need any specialist knowledge - just a patient and friendly manner,

The details of the workshops are as follows:

  • Thursday 6 February: Staying Safe Online
  • Thursday 13 February: Social Media
  • Thursday 20 February: Having Fun With Apps
  • Thursday 27 February: Using WiFi vs Mobile Data

Each workshop lasts for 90 minutes and will be held at the Dougherty Community Centre in Chatswood.  Volunteers will need to be at the centre from 9:30am - 11:30am.

Ideally you will be able to volunteer across all four workshops as we expect a number of participants will attend all the workshops and this will give you and opportunity to build friendly relationships with the participants.  However, if you are not able to volunteer across all workshops then it may still be possible to help out across one or two.

Volunteers are a really valuable part of this workshop, and hugely add to the experience of participants.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
