Summary of program and its objectives:

Sumner House offers quality care and friendship for older people in a warm and welcoming environment. The house provides 43 beds all which have individual bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms, televisions, phone connection and internet providing residents with independence and autonomy.

We are currently seeking reliable and empathetic individuals with strong communication skills to be involved in one on one and group socialisation activities with our residents.

Main responsibilities of the role

The purpose of this Volunteer position is to provide companionship and socialisation to the residents which includes assisting with lifestyle activities such as walking groups, barbeques, board games and group discussions. The Brotherhood’s work is supported by the efforts of volunteers who wish to help people build a better life for themselves, their families and their community.  Without volunteer contribution, the crucial work of the Brotherhood would not be possible.
