HYPA (Helping Young People Achieve), as part of SYC Ltd is a South Australian, non-for profit, community based organisation that has a long tradition of helping young people change their lives for the better. Since 1958 we have helped thousands of young people find a safe place to sleep, deal with personal issues, finish school and reconnect with their families.

Geared2Drive, HYPA’s learner driver mentor program is looking for volunteers to assist young people aged 16-25 to accrue their supervised driving hours in our program cars. The cars are fitted with dual brake and young people will have had at least 4 professional lessons before they are matched with a volunteer to be their supervising driver. Geared2Drive runs from Wardli Youth Centre Christies Downs Training is provided and support given by the Volunteer Coordinator and Site Manager. A high level of patience and communication and a commitment to providing a supportive environment for learning and wellbeing is essential.
