Hydrotherapy Volunteer Pool Sitter
Better Health NetworkHydrotherapy (aquatic exercise therapy) is a form of physiotherapy treatment involving exercise in a heated pool. Aquatic exercises can help injury recovery, rehabilitation and fitness training. The warm water supports the body, improves stability, provides resistance for strength training, promotes circulation, helps muscle relaxation and decreases pain. Apart from physical benefits of hydrotherapy there are also the psychological benefits which can include relaxation due to warmth and weightlessness, increased feeling of health and wellbeing, increased self-confidence and improved mood through positive interaction with staff, clients and volunteers. The role of Volunteer Hydrotherapy Pool Sitter is to ensure clients are safe and comply with pool rules as well as to undertake administration tasks such as completing attendance lists.
