Cat Protection's Op Shop in Newtown raises money to fund our work caring for cats. All goods for sale are donated and the Shop is attended by volunteers, who are supported by a Cat Protection staff member who coordinates the roster and provides induction, training and advice to volunteers.

Please note this volunteer position is retail based and does not involve working with any of the cats or kittens in our care.

Duties include cleaning the shop and stock (eg sweeping/vacuuming before the store opens, dusting, washing glassware etc prior to being placed in the store for sale); receiving, sorting and displaying goods in line with our donations policy and store procedures; providing assistance to customers and donors; processing sales; monitoring trends and providing feedback and suggestions to Cat Protection.

This is a great opportunity to gain work experience in a retail environment, develop your customer service skills, pursue an interest in the world of second-hand goods, unleash your creativity with enticing window displays and meet new people while helping Cat Protection with our life-saving feline welfare work. You even get to spend time with the kitties at the shelter!

You'll be joining a lovely diverse team who are all dedicated to helping cats ... and you get to visit the cats, too!
