Initial briefing session, volunteer gatherings, periodic meetings of volunteers.
Friendly outgoing manner, interested in other cultures, confidence in relating to international students. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and are required to receive a screening check prior to commencement.
Please Note: As each organisation provides different levels/types of insurance, volunteers are reminded to check with the organisation as to the type of insurance provided for volunteers (e.g. Volunteer Personal Accident Insurance)
The Talking with Aussies (TWA) program matches current international students of the University with local volunteers to practice conversational English for one hour per week. If you can spare an hour a week to chat one-on-one with an international student, we’d love to welcome you as a member of the Talking with Aussies Program.
