The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of The Rotary Club of Kew.

We are looking for Retail Assistants for our Fair Trade and Gift Shop located in East Kew. for Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon shift 12.00-5.00. Saturday between 10.00am and 5.00pm. You will be mixing in a fun environment, meeting like-minded people and making a difference.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Great Customer Service
• Sales and merchandising
• Maintain Shop appearance
• Placing of items on the shop shelves
• Understand and promote the purpose of this charity shop
• Pricing and Sorting Collectables, Clothing, Books and Bric-a-Brac

Skills and Experience:

• Retail experience and brand knowledge would be beneficial

• Excellent Customer Service Skills

• Good organisational skills

• Able to volunteer as part of a team as well as work independently

• Ability to Work with Cash & Eftpos - POS system Kounta

• Eye for Detail

• Reliability

• Motivation to make a difference in this charity environment

• Interest in Fair Trade

  Induction and Training:

• Tour and interview

• Complete the volunteer registration process

• Work alongside mentor until familiar with processes

• Information provided on the fair trade social movement

• Clear understanding of Store structure

• Information on Rotary and where the money raised goes.
