This organisation supports kids living in families affected by mental illness. The program provides recreational, educational camps and other activities, giving kids a break, in a fun, positive and safe environment. Kids have the opportunity to meet other kids in similar situations and develop new friendships. Dedicated volunteers provide assistance with a range of supports such as camp leaders, activity day volunteers, bus supervisors, camp nurses, clinical assistants and office administration.
They are seeking enthusiastic volunteer camp leaders to attend Kookaburra Kids weekend camps in NSW. Camps run throughout the year in numerous locations across NSW supporting kids from 8-18yrs of age. Weekend camps run from Friday evening through to Sunday afternoon.
They are seeking adults over the age of 21 from all walks of life. Camp Leaders do not have to have any experience in mental health but are required to undertake volunteer screening and induction training.
