Palliative Care social home visitor - Belrose
HammondCare AustraliaHammondCare is passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. Our Northern Beaches Palliative Care Home Support Program, operating out of a cottage on the grounds of Mona Vale Hospital, provides end of life care for patients who wish to remain at home, in suburbs such as Killarney Height, Forestville, Belrose, Frenchs Forest, Terrey Hills, Beacon Hill.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to visit palliative care patients in their homes to offer social support for one to two hours each week for 12 months or longer.
You may spend time doing the following activities • Relate with people in a friendly manner that promotes their self-worth and dignity • Watch a movie or go for a leisurely walk • Engage in conversation • Pet therapy • Go out for coffee • Play a game • Do a craft • Spend time in the garden • Support people to engage with any activities that are meaningful to them • Drive people to and from their home to the cottage on the grounds of Mona Vale Hospital
