The Complementary Therapy program offers a range of therapies to cancer patients and carers. Under the guidance of the Cancer Support Coordinator, the main tasks and responsibilities are:

Reiki practice by appointment weekly/fortnightly -Work with cancer patients, their families or carers
Meet time and duty commitments
Complete consent and medical history client forms
Respect client confidentiality -Complete reporting documents
Maintain regular contact with and provide feedback to supervisor
Report concerns regarding client suitability or condition
Comply with Cancer Council WA Health and Safety policy
Participate in an annual reflection process

This supportive care program will operate at the Hills Hub at Midland weekly or fortnightly, from Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, for approximately 2-3 hours per week although days and times are flexible depending on demand and volunteer availability.

Police check cost is covered by the organisation

Requirements

National Police Certificate

Reiki Level 1 (copy of certificate required and original sited) Eligible membership to a Reiki association Documented evidence of 30 hours of Reiki administration in the last 12 months (diary evidence or a statutory declaration would be suitable Completed training through a qualified and reputable Master (proof to be provided) Suitable reference from a Reiki Master or another individual that has supervised Reiki provision.
