Why not join the amazing volunteer team for Cystic Fibrosis Community Care’s (CFCC) Great Strides event on Sunday 13 October 2019 in Bendigo at Lake Weeroona or Sunday 20 October 2019 at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne.

We would love you to be involved in this fabulous day! Great Strides is a fun and upbeat event and an opportunity to support the Cystic Fibrosis community, all whilst making new friends.

There will be a volunteer briefing on Thursday 10 October at 6pm to prep you for the day and to introduce you to your fellow volunteers!

About Cystic Fibrosis: Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common inherited and life threatening condition in Australia. More than 700 Victorians living with CF require significant daily medications and physiotherapy and frequent hospitalisation. It is a serious and life-limiting condition. There is no cure. Despite major advances in the treatment of CF, only 50% of those born with this condition reach their late thirties. Additionally, 1 in 25 Australians are unwitting carriers of the defective CF gene. Greater understanding, better treatments and increased support is vital.

About Cystic Fibrosis Community Care: Cystic Fibrosis Community Care (CFCC) is the peak not-for-profit organisation working with and for people with CF across Victoria and New South Wales. The mission of CFCC is to assist everyone affected by CF to be well and live fuller lives. We provide information, support and guidance to people living with CF and their families. This includes advocating for services and systems that support the CF community. We also seek to raise awareness, understanding and funds for services and research. Approximately 80% of CFCC income is from fundraising.

About Great Strides: Great Strides is a 4km, 8km or 21 km fun run and walk which raises awareness and essential funds for CFCC. Great Strides is our largest fundraising event, ensuring we can continue to provide key programs and services to the CF community.

Volunteer roles include • Set up and pack down • Selling merchandise • Registrations • Bib collection • Track Marshall • Water station • Tin Rattling
