Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Volunteers work side by side with staff to deliver uncompromising care to our patients and their families. They work both behind the scenes, assisting staff with administrative tasks, and more directly with patients and their families. Some of these vital roles include welcoming patients, carers and visitors to the hospital and providing support and refreshments.

Other roles are varied: Patient refreshments, musicians, drivers, patient and carer companions, patient and carer social interactions and many many others. Staff support opportunities available for admin support, database support, reception support.

The hours are flexible, the roles rewarding and there is a great team atmosphere Our volunteers are highly valued members of our team and work alongside staff to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for our patients. We do ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 12 months but naturally that doesn't preclude you from taking leave during that time.
