Museum Guide at the Commissariat Store Museum

Our museum guides work as part of a team to show individuals and small groups around our convict and early Queensland history museum. You will take group tours of school children, community and social groups and Australian and international tourists, although groups will not be more than 10 - 15 people. A current Blue Card is essential and we can arrange an application if you do not have one. All training provided. Skills required: Good communication skills, good English language skills and an ability to talk to individual visitors and to small groups. Volunteer characteristics: Well presented. An interest in Queensland history and attention to detail essential. Skills gained: Public speaking, an expanded knowledge of Queensland history, an understanding of the operation of a museum and an opportunity to work with a terrific bunch of volunteers in a supportive environment in Queensland's oldest occupied convict building.
