The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Samarinda Ashburton Aged Services Inc. (SAAS)

We are looking for volunteers to join our fantastic team of Social Support Assistants. Your vital assistance makes a difference to the lives of elderly residents across Camberwell, Glen Iris, Ashburton & Ashwood.

Key tasks:

• Participate with clients in Social Support Group activities at Samarinda Community Centre. Activities include Art Group, Games Group, Men's Group, Sewing Group, Knitting Group, Table Tennis Club, Bingo.
• Take clients on community excursions in the Samarinda 12-seater minibus (standard Drivers Licence is adequate). Lunch is provided and any activity costs are covered for volunteers.
• Samarinda vehicles are provided for these activities.

Key skills or experience:

• A strong commitment to working with older people across Camberwell, Glen Iris, Ashburton & Ashwood.
• "Can-do" attitude, some spare time on weekdays between 09:30 - 4:00pm (days and times are totally flexible) at Samarinda Community Centre.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
