Phone Operator
ACT WildlifeThe phone is the way we are put in touch with injured native animals. Calls are mostly from the public, Access Canberra and veterinary practices.
As a phone operator you will need to assess each situation and provide the appropriate outcome. Many calls are for advice. You will be backed up by transport drivers and carers.
Training is provided and there is always someone to help if you are unsure of the action required if there is a tricky call. Every wildlife situation is different but you soon learn to give good advice and achieve the best outcomes for the animals.
