Job Shop Mentor

The City of Stirling are looking to build on the current success of the Job Shop Program operating from the Osborne Library at Osborne Community Centre .

Job shop Mentors support residents looking for employment or volunteering by:

Providing assessments of clients skills, abilities and requirements; Support clients in resume writing and job search techniques; Encourage clients to job search and apply themselves; and Assist clients to develop skills and strategies to address areas of concern.

Ideally, Job Shop Volunteer will be volunteering in Osborne Library on Tuesdays or Thursdays - (3 hrs block, e.g. 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm, or 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm).

Full City of Stirling Volunteer Induction is required and on going mentoring

Flexible, by arrangement. Ideally you will be available for one full day or two half days per week.

National Police Certificate

You will be volunteering in Osborne Library as a Job Shop Mentor to attend on Tuesdays or Thursdays - (3 hrs block, e.g. 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm, or 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm). Your role is key to supporting those in the area into employment. Many of your clients will be newly arrived and will need a lot of support and guidance, so patience is essential and you must be comfortable working with people from diverse backgrounds. You will have had experience working closely to assist job seekers in case management within the Commonwealth Employment Service or Job Network. You must be welcoming, computer savvy and have excellent interpersonal skills.
