Supervising Driver - Waterloo, Woolloomoollo - # 72202

Weave Youth & Community Services

This volunteer role helps people of all ages to attain their drivers licence through supporting them with the requisite supervised driving hours. Typically, people who participate in this program do not have access to fully licenced drivers who are able to provide driving supervision.

The role involves spending a minimum of two hours per week on the road with a learner at a time that suits both you and the driver. Both automatic and manual cars are provided. During this time spent with the learner driver, the volunteer is required to provide supportive guidance, encouragement and build appropriate confidence in the learner driver. The goal is to prepare the learner driver to pass their provisional licence test.

Minimum age 25 years and volunteers will need to undergo a NSW Working With Children check. Good driving record required.

Benefits: This is a rewarding role with measurable outcomes and provides an obvious and valuable benefit to the learner driver. It further provides an opportunity for a volunteer to develop a mentoring-type relationship with the program participant.
