"Chantal Cottage" provides a lovely “home away from home” atmosphere for elderly people who live with dementia. Day Centre clients are cared for by a well-trained and dedicated team who supply activities, meals and social interaction. Volunteers provide valuable one on one social support .... from engaging the client in a game of scrabble, working on a puzzle together, reading the newspaper, and encouraging the client's participation in activities and discussion as well as assisting staff as required. Volunteers are currently needed for Mondays approx. 10 am to 3 pm with flexibility in times if you need to collect children from school and have holidays off. You are welcome to come in to visit Chantal Cottage and see if you enjoy this interesting Volunteer role before committing ongoing.
