Lifeline Volunteer Crisis Supporter - Gordon - # 62077

Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury is looking for volunteer Telephone Crisis Supporters to answer calls to Lifeline’s 13 11 14 national crisis line to assist callers with a wide variety of issues, including loneliness, relationships, domestic violence, abuse, gambling, drugs and alcohol, mental health, grief and loss, and suicide.
What is involved in being a Lifeline Crisis Supporter?

Following a recruitment process, you will undertake a 3-month training course to become a Crisis Supporter on our phones, answering calls to Lifeline's 13 11 14 national crisis line.

You will listen compassionately to what's going on for the caller.

If needed, you will support the caller to make a safety plan

You will be part of an essential frontline team of over 250 Crisis Supporters volunteering at our centre in Gordon, which in 2024 answered over 94,000 calls -- 11% of all national calls.
