Volunteer Car Driver

South West Community Transport

Are you in a position to give back to your community? Do you have some spare time during the week and keen to get out and help others? South West Community Transport are actively looking for volunteer drivers to join our team. As a volunteer driver you will be providing safe and reliable professional transport service to clients of South West Community Transport.

South West Community Transport provides transport services to the elderly 65 years and over (50 years and over for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders), registered NDIS clients, carers and people who may be transport disadvantaged. The areas we cover include Liverpool, Fairfield, Campbelltown, Camden, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee LGA's. SWCT are seeking friendly, enthusiastic individuals who want to give back to their community and volunteer their time as a Volunteer Driver. The purpose of this position is to:

  • Provide safe and reliable door to door transport to our clients
  • Provide assistance to clients accessing the vehicle and ensure safe delivery into the facility they are attending or to their own home
  • Ensure all passengers travel comfortably and safely between destinations

To be considered for this position you will be need:

  • Class C Licence
  • Demonstrated clean driving record
  • Current First Aid Certificate* or willingness to obtain
  • Current Police Check* or willingness to obtain
  • Current Working with Children Check* or willingness to obtain
  • NDIS Worker Screener Tool* or willingness to obtain
  • Commercial Driver Medical* or willingness to obtain
  • Demonstrated high level verbal & communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse communities
  • Knowledge of the Liverpool, Fairfield, Camden, Campbelltown, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee LGA's

*Expenses for required certifications/ licences will be reimbursed by SWCT

Successful volunteers receive uniform, orientation, training, ongoing support and other opportunities during their time of service.
