Phone Coordinators

Wildlife Rescue Australia (WRA) is a charitable association, operating throughout Australia and staffed only by volunteers. It is dedicated to the rescue of Australian native animals. To this end, WRA has established a Call Centre capable of handling over one million incoming calls per annum of which 100+ calls may be simultaneously. All WRA phone coordinators (PCs) are home-based and use professionally-written computer software to locate potential rescuers etc. All software required by coordinators is supplied by Wildlife Rescue, free of charge. With the support of other WRA volunteers, PCs play a key role in directing carers or rescuers across Australia to assist/collect wildlife at risk, or with injuries. As a PC, you will: * take phone calls from members of the public or organisations requesting help with native animals in need; * evaluate the need for assistance and advise the caller how to proceed; and * if required, contact potential rescuers, wildlife carers or vet clinics or other specialised people to organise rescue and care for the animal.
