We are seeking a Board Member/Treasurer who will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of our organisation, providing guidance, governance, and oversight to ensure our initiatives continue to grow and thrive. You will also oversee our organisation's financial health, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective resource management.

Key Board Member Responsibilities

• Meet quarterly for board meetings.
• Shape the strategic direction of our organisation.
• Work alongside other dedicated professionals, providing guidance, governance, and oversight to ensure our initiatives continue to grow and thrive.

Key Treasurer Responsibilities

• Oversee the financial planning and budgeting processes for the organisation.
• Prepare, analyse, and present quarterly, and annual budgets and financial reports to the board of directors.
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Review the accounts during the year to identify any issues that should be highlighted to the board.
• Produce the Treasurer’s Report for the Annual Report.
• Implement, monitor, and periodically review internal controls to safeguard the organisation’s assets from theft, fraud, and mismanagement while ensuring accurate financial reporting.
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors to facilitate annual audits and tax filings.

Capabilities and Attributes

• A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Financial risk management.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret and evaluate financial data.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the Board and volunteers to achieve shared goals
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting.
